Stage 2:
Top teams/solutions, as well as any team whose project addresses a Request for Help, will have 2 weeks to finalize their projects.
Any other team, whose project did not pass stage 1, can also participate in this 2nd week sprint by:
- asking to join one of the teams that passed stage 1 and help them in development
- trying to work on one of a projects that passed into the stage 2 separately
- trying to pivot their own project to something which will help fight the Corona
A final round of presentations will be on:
HOW?
Let's come together and make a difference!
- because you want to #stayathome but also do something good for you and for the community
- because you want to dig into the data science like a pro (even if you are a student)
- to help solve a problem that is keeping us locked inside (and endangering our lives) all over the globe
- because requests for help are already coming in from hospitals and public health agencies! One of the first was a request for a bed and respirator availability/tracking application, from New York State Department of Health. We (SCU faculty) started working on this, then were inspired by the responses from our students and from industry. We wanted to bring together everyone to take on some of these challenges together, instead of being cooped up at home, just waiting for news and updates.
WHO?
- Teams of 3-4 people (bigger and smaller groups allowed too)
- Individuals wanting to get involved (we'll form teams for you)
- Hospitals, government agencies, healthcare institutions that have a Request for Help to bring us; teams will be encouraged to address and prioritize Requests for Help in their deliverables
